The Sense of Poetry

Fragile threads Meticulously linked Words like Anemones that Leave colorful impressions On the heart
Iambic projections Blotting the page In syllabic colors of meaning Like daubs of the artist’s brush Brought to life
Neither secret nor esoteric Such words and phrases Will not come to life Until their color is found Their flavor is appreciated
Enlightening the heart so That perhaps one jotted line Or phrase, or simple word Will linger to become A flower of inspiration or song
