Clifford and Sheila Come to Dinner
Our visitors to the lake are sometimes surprising. Although these images do not do them justice, these are two of my favorites. This is Clifford and Sheila, the two Wood Storks that we see off and on as they come pecking for frogs and other juicy tidbits from the waterside. Not quite as impressive on the ground as they are beautiful when in flight, the Wood Stork population is diminishing due to deforestation which is limiting habitat and exposing their nesting areas to excessive predation.
